It would seem the Prime Minister misunderstood something, as, according to Eurostat, Hungary comes second to last on the list that ranks EU countries by the share of renewable energy in their power generation.
Again, one must not consider what Orbán says, but look at what he actually does. He talks about climate protection and the country being a climate champion, while he wants to buy from public money one of the most polluting power plants in Europe, the Mátra Power Plant, just to save his pal who got into trouble.
According to MSZP, we do not need coal-fired power plants, but to provide domestic electricity consumption from renewable sources as much as possible whilst retaining the related workplaces.
