Over a week ago, I sent a letter to the relevant ministries of the Orbán government, the Prime Minister and the Government Spokesperson, but so far none of them have managed to answer the very simple question: why did the relatives of the head of foreign intelligence in the Russian government led by Putin receive golden visas from Fidesz?

MSZP is asking about the details of Fidesz's secret austerity plan in the wake of recent statements by Finance Minister Mihály Varga, and because Orbán has "gone back to the European Commission to beg for EU subsidies."

Only a few days before the launch of the deadly Russian military aggression, Viktor Orbán visited Moscow yet again and although he described the visit as a kind of peace mission, we can clearly see that he achieved nothing in this area. In fact, precisely because of the unilateral Russian aggression that has taken place since then, the outcome of the economic and cooperation agreements that were formulated after the meeting has become highly questionable.

Only a change of government can help their desperate situation!

"That's it, enough! Today, I am filing a criminal complaint against unknown perpetrators for the serial misuse of data of public interest by the Fidesz government, more specifically the Ministry of Human Capacities," announced Socialist MEP and member of the European Parliament's Committee on Public Health István Ujhelyi at an online press conference on Wednesday.

Measures to help people's livelihoods and the development of families must be kept by the new government, but they must also be made fairer, MSZP Deputy Chairman Imre Komjáthi said on ATV's Start programme on Thursday in connection with the programme of United for Hungary presented the previous day.

In her speech before the agenda of Thursday's extraordinary session of Parliament, the MSZP co-president said she welcomed the fact that the legislature had finally condemned Putin's aggression, which had further complicated the lives of Hungarian people, and promised that after 3 April the new government of national unity established by United for Hungary would bring about the desired turnaround, which would finally improve the well-being and security of society in everyday life.

One was overcome with a strong sense of vicarious embarrassment just watching a video on a news portal of Fidesz luminaries and petty figures, all confused by journalists' questions, trying to flip-flop and distance themselves from Putin with sentences following the pattern of "on the hand and on the other," while at the same time denying the peculiar Kremlin-friendliness of the past twelve years.

MSZP MEP István Ujhelyi has been nominated for the MEP Awards for the third time, according to the list of nominees published today by the organisers.

I really hope that this is just an administrative error and that it is wrongly stated in the official communications, because if it is true that Hungary is the only country excluding itself from the European voluntary programme to help Ukraine, then Orbán and his mates are once again putting the whole nation on the world's wall of shame. And Hungarians do not deserve that at all.
