According to Molnár, Fidesz is hiding from the debate because they have nothing of substance to say, all
they are good for is sending the police to hassle the 8 th district opposition mayoral candidate, Andras
By blocking advertising opportunities and opposition campaign ads in public areas, the government
parties have been trying to prevent the spreading of campaign mood in the city, but the opposition is
doing its utmost to circumvent these and increase people’s willingness to participate in the election, the
socialist politician added.
Molnár considers addressing undecided voters as one of the most important tasks of the coming period;
therefore, the focus of the opposition campaign closing will not be on mass demonstration, but on the
formulation of messages.
The president of the Socialists in Budapest thanked former opposition mayoral candidates, Olga Kálmán
and Gábor Kerpel-Fronius, for their support of Gergely Karácsony's campaign and asked opposition
voters to go to the polls on 13 October and support opposition candidates.
