The epidemic is indeed our common enemy, our prevailing freedoms, however, that have often been shamed, and our democracy are our common treasure. As we protect our health and our lives, we must protect what is left of our homeland.
Together, we, the opposition parties, see that in recent weeks the government has been proven inept to recognize and address threats in time. We see that they continue not to treat Hungarian citizens and their representatives as partners; they rather see them as a political opponent to be defeated by the regime. That's not what we think.
We believe that we need to act together, and for this, plan and decide together. We were deprived of this possibility and so were millions of our compatriots in Hungary.
We can and wish to contribute to making common, meaningful decisions to fight the epidemic, but we shall not allow our country to be mocked or overtaken on the grounds of actual danger.
That is why we did not allow them trample on Parliament, the representatives of the people, and ultimately, Hungary.
